The Fighting For Life play was performed at the recent International Forum on Quality and Safety in Healthcare held in Utrecht, Netherlands. The Forum was organised by the BMJ Group Ltd. The play highlights the difficulties that can face older people when they are moving towards the end of their lives and have challenging health conditions.

“It was a real pleasure and thrill for us to perform “Fighting For Life” at this prestigious international event,” said Ann Paul, CEO, Pluto Productions. “We were very pleased to show just how difficult it can be for older people to get the help and support they need at such a challenging time and the difficulties that families can encounter when trying to support them. The response from those attending the performance was heart-warming and the discussion afterwards indicated how there much there is in common between different countries on the issues presented.”

Pluto Productions

Pluto Productions was founded by Brian Daniels and the late Andrew Connolly in 1997 to run the famous New End Theatre in New End, Hampstead, North London. Between 1997 and 2011, the company produced more than 200 new plays and musicals as well as literary events with established writers.

Since 2011, the company has largely produced plays inspired by true stories. Contemporary and complex issues covering health and social care, life-limiting illness, dementia, and family relationships are explored in a compassionate and understanding way.

The plays are commissioned, hosted, and performed at NHS sites, hospitals, hospices, community centres, national theatres and at conferences and used for education and training purposes.
